Former Atlanta Braves' All-Star Signs Deal with American League Powerhouse

Teheran has pitched in parts of 12 major league seasons with the Braves, Los Angeles Angels, Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers. He appeared in just one game during the 2021-2022 seasons before resurfacing to make 11 starts for Milwaukee in 2023.

Now 33-years-old, he went 3-5 with a 4.40 ERA last season. Lifetime, he's 81-82 with a 3.83. Teheran made the All-Star Game in both 2014 and 2016 for the Braves and has amassed five separate double-digit win seasons.

As far as the Orioles reasons for signing him, it all centers on the health of its pitching staff. Baltimore will likely open the season with both John Means and Kyle Bradish on the injured list. For an O's team that won 101 games last season and has World Series aspirations, they don't want to see an injured staff derail their season. They've acquired Corbin Burnes in an offseason deal with the Brewers and now are adding Teheran, who could win a starting spot or could potentially be a bullpen piece.

The O's figure to have Burnes, Grayson Rodriguez and Dean Kremer as rotation locks right now after the injuries.

Baltimore won the most games in the American League a season ago and was bounced in the ALDS by the Texas Rangers.
