To deride press freedom is egregious. However, an incident on similar lines transpired during last weekend’s WWE PLE, Backlash’s post-show press conference, even with Triple H at the forefront. An in-house journalist, Lucas Charpiot, has accused a representative from WWE’s PR department of looking down on him as soon as he inquired The Game about Ronda Rousey‘s remarks on Drew Gulak.

No sooner did the Lille-based journo finish up his question when a WWE rep uttered, “what a dumb thing to do,” at Charpiot, as revealed by the latter on Post Wrestling. It was the last open-to-media query for the night, one that Triple H himself asked for. And it ended up being a curveball for the WWE CCO. Before even getting to Rousey harboring those allegations on Gulak, The Cerebral Assassin aimed a dig at news outlets for making up stuff.

In contrast to what was previously reported, Drew Gulak wasn’t fired. The 14-time World Champion affirmed that Drew’s contract was just not renewed. Not to much of a surprise, Triple H dodged the Ronda Rousey bullet. For the unversed, the former UFC ace had levied some heavy charges on the 37-year-old Superstar. The latter allegedly pulled the strings of Rousey’s sweatpants while they encountered backstage.

"One of the PR, as soon as I asked my question to Triple H, said to me ‘what a dumb thing to do’. So I knew there was going to be backlash online," Journalist Lucas Charpiot via Post Wrestling

Gulak cleared his side by saying that it was merely an accident. However, upon digging into his resume, Fightful Select noted that the Philadelphia native used to bully his peers in NXT. There was even an instance of Shawn Michaels reprimanding The Legal Eagle for brazenly spiking one of his opponents. Drew’s contract is believed to expire next month.

Ronda Rousey did tell Triple H her pet-peeve before leaving WWE

It can’t be stressed further how vituperative Ronda Rousey had become of WWE as she was on the verge of bowing out. The Rowdy One has detailed the vicissitudes she witnessed in her post-pregnancy run. The former Women’s Champion had apparently discovered the casting couch culture over there.

Moreover, the incessant lawsuits against Vince McMahon didn’t help either. Ronda grew in disdain as evident by excerpts from her recently released memoir. However, The Arm Collector gave Triple H his flowers.

She revealed having a long sit-down conversation with him shortly before her WWE exit. Rousey elucidated that she couldn’t stay associated with mediocrity as she pretty much was during the dusk of her run. The former Judoka affirmed that Hunter does care about female wrestlers being put on the map.
